Text

In the beginning of this project, I was interested in particular phrases that originated in my familial vernacular.  A kind of story-telling rumination on the power of brevity and language, they are jokes, stories, cultural references and poignant moments reduced to a few words.  Thinking of how power and meaning can be embedded in form, the words also poke fun at the typeface (Not Good Enough, Edwardian Script!) I'm interested in a shade of ambiguity where the context determines the meaning.

I have been missing you, relief, 18" x 20", 2011

Maybe we should just be friends, relief, 18" x 20", 2011
